ERNIES' WAR

A moving collection of poems inspired by the personal story of true real life hero Ernest (Ernie) Lewis from Driffield, East Yorkshire, who was a Private in the Yorkshire based regiment The Green Howards, during the Second World War.

This book tells the story of Ernie's internment in a German prisoner of war camp in Poland and his perilous journey on the infamous Long (Death) March between Jan-Mar 1945.

Other poems included in the book visit the life of adults and children in England on how they survived through the war and the impact the war had on them.

The author hopes that she has captured the mood and emotion that was felt by so many during this difficult period of history. A riveting read that taps into the essence of what life was truly like during the Second World War.
